Die Pellinor-Saga

I don't know. I'm always the last to know...

I just found out, via German Amazon, that The Gift came out there this month! Gasp! And the two others won't be far behind.

But better still, I found the covers. I love them!

I love the covers! They're so.....deep and mystical. Alison, I was just wondering- Why Germany? I have absolutely nothing against Germany, but I mean, did you pick where the books would be realeased or did someone else?

Hi Seneca - if authors could pick where they were published, it would be a different world! Usually agents badger publishers with books, but this time, it was total chance: some unknown person, who shall be eternally blessed, read The Gift, and suggested it to the publisher as something that might interest him, and then he contacted me. I've been very lucky.

Those covers are beautiful. I also really like the American covers. I had never even heard of you or your books when I saw The Naming on a shelf of the library. They say not to judge a book by it's cover but the cover was beautiful and the title intrigued me so I picked it up and decided I'd see what it was about. I am so glad I did. I absolutely love your books. I'll be starting the Crow tomorrow.

I've dreamt of writing a fantasy adventure novel my whole life but the more I read others the more inadequate I feel about trying.

At least I have Maerad's world to get lost in when I read.

Thanks Summer - once it was a dream of mine, as well. You never know! Only everything takes much longer than you expect. (In my case, well, 30 years...)

Hi, I just want to say that I love your books, I read The Naming in like, a day, and was totally hooked. I've read The Crow and now I'm waiting not so patiently for The Singing. =D You're such a talented writer!
I'm trying to find an agent for a fantasy novel that I wrote. (I'm working on the second one! yay!) Do you have any advice for a young aspiring author? =)

If you click on the "writing" label, andee, there's some advice there. And hopefully more when the inspiration takes me. The whole business side of it is something I'm not so good on, I fear...

I love the German covers! I might have to get them now, just because they're beautiful and I can practice reading German again (I'm a bit rusty). I have to say I love love love your books and am eager to read The Singing later this year! : )

Pretty!

But why do the first and second covers have the characters in stances like those in the Black Magician's Guild series?

Bunnisteffi

I expect because Trudi Canavan is very popular in Germant, Bunnisteffi...!
